Containers Direct logo

This is one of our most popular product as it offers clients high security and guaranteed dry storage at a great price. We take a standard 40ft container and make two 20ft units. This process of conversion enables clients to choose the type of doors most suitable for purpose.

Please note cut down containers are not suitable for shipping, stacking or lifting when loaded. They can be modified upon request if these conditions are required.

Our SG shipping containers (the SG stands for storage grade!) are ISO shipping containers that are no longer deemed suitable for the rigours of international shipping. However, as they are former shipping standard containers they have the advantage of being strongly built from corten steel with heavy duty solid door and thick weight bearing floors.

What type of storage are SG shipping containers recommended for?

  • Plant machinery

  • Tools

  • Building Materials

  • Packaged Commercial Stock
We would not recommend buying an SG shipping container for the storage of archive documents, household furniture or shipping overseas. For this type of use you may wish to look at a higher grade of container. Our FG containers (furniture grade) are recommended for these uses.

We would describe the appearance as reasonable with some surface rust, paint failure and minor denting. If a good cosmetic appearance is important you may consider having the container re-sprayed to your choice of colour or opting for a higher grade of container.

Our SG containers come with a choice of doors
