Why A Storage Container Is Perfect For Football Clubs

Thursday 22 April 2021 Filed in: General

Shipping containers are a common sight on football club grounds. Strong, secure and versatile they can be used for general storage of club equipment, or converted to provide a clubhouse or other facillities. There's good news if you're a looking for a secure storage container for your grass roots club or organisation, as you may be eligible for a grant of up to £25,000 from The Football Foundation.

Extra space and secure storage

A storage container is an ideal place to place to lock up your kits, training equipment, even seating, when not in use. Metal storage containers are weatherproof, vandal and theft proof and come in a wide range of sizes to cater for both large and small clubs. Choose from either flat pack containers for smaller loads or areas with tricky access, or modified shipping containers, cut down to any size and offered with a wide range of optional extras.

Shipping containers for club storage

Shipping containers are incredibly tough and will give you lasting performance. Choose from unmodified used or once used 20ft or 40ft shipping containers, or containers cut down to your required length. 10ft shipping containers are popular with smaller clubs, along with our specially designed S1 style storage doors that are great for frequent use as they are much easier to handle than original shipping container doors. Our optional extras popular with football clubs including ply lining to eliminate condensation in the container, electrics and an exterior repaint in club colours.

As an additional security feature a lockbox to protect the padlock is fitted for free with all our shipping containers under 40ft. Your football equipment will be safe and secure in our shipping containers!

Flat pack containers for football clubs

These come in a range of sizes - a standard width of 2.1m and a choice of either 2m, 3m or 4m in length. As self-assembly is required, and delivery costs are far lower than with rigid structures, they are often the preferred choice for clubs on a careful budget. Flat pack containers are ideal for areas with tight access as they are man portable, or for situations which may require the unit to be moved around from time to time. This can be done without the need for a specialist truck, but can be done by hand by disassembling the container back to flat pack parts.
