14ft Containers Second Hand

Containers Direct produce odd sized containers, with a wide range of product options and extras to make storage a smoother task. Standard sized shipping containers are 20ft or 40ft long, and make excellent storage units, but will require cutting down if you need any other size. For more information on this process, see our article Cut Down Containers. Second hand 14ft containers are a good 'in between' size, as they are roomy enough to store a good quantity, but won't take up too much space in situ.

After we have made the cut to produce a 14ft container, we then offer a choice of doors to complete your container, specifically designed to meet different requirements.
Please note cut down containers are not suitable for shipping, stacking or lifting when loaded. They can be modified upon request if these conditions are required.

S1 - flat panel doors

We fabricate brand new doors to complete the containers that are light and easy to use. Made from flat steel panels, these are more user friendly than original shipping containers doors, which are corrugated and therefore heavier to handle. Flat panel doors are great for smaller storage containers and frequent use, and are a popular choice for domestic storage, schools and small clubs. The doors are secured by a single lockable arm, which can be protected by a special lockbox for additional security.

Recommended Product! Why not add compressed door seals* to your S1 container for only £65.00 plus VAT

S2 - shipping container doors

Shipping container doors are made from thick corrugated steel panels, with a rubber seal to keep out water. These doors are built to the highest standards, but this also makes them quite cumbersome to use, and for many storage containers this can outweigh the benefits. The preferred choice for building and construction site storage.

S3 - premium flat panel doors

At Containers Direct we offer a unique third option which combines the advantages of both types of door. We are lucky to have manufacturing facilities on site and have designed and manufactured a door which is both easy to use and is superior in quality. Although the appearance of S3 doors may differ slightly from container to container, they all share these characteristics:
  • New/once-used

  • External rubber door seals

  • Waist high handles

  • Two locking arms on the right hand door only

  • Shoot bolts on the left hand door

  • S4 - roller shutter doors

These make loading and unloading more convenient, especially if using a forklift. Roller shutters are anti vandal, made from fully welded, galvanised steel and are padlockable on both ends. Manual or electric options are available.

    S5 doors

These are steel personnel doors, suitable for frequent pedestrian use in out of the container, incorporating multi deadlocks and offering high levels of security. Personnel doors are the preferred door type for our portable site office units, and other conversions, such as offices, classrooms, workshops and equipment stores.

    Side doors

Doors can also be positioned in the side of the container. Choose from S1, S3, S4 (roller shutter) and S5 (personnel door). We also supply extra wide side doors, and multiple sets where size allows. You can have a side door to replace the end door, or in addition to.

Included in the price of all our 14ft second hand containers, is an exterior re-spray with our specialist rubberised container paint, in your own choice of colour.

Please note, for very light or bright paint options (ie white, yellow, red, orange) there is a surcharge

All our 14ft containers come with a steel lockbox, protecting the padlock from tampering (usual retail price £55)

    *Compressed door seals
