14ft Shipping Containers - New and Used
Containers Direct produce odd sized containers, with a wide range of product options and extras to make storage a smoother task.
Standard sized shipping containers are 20ft or 40ft long, and make excellent storage units, but will require cutting down if you need any other size. For more information on this process, see our article Cut Down Containers. 14ft containers are a good 'in between' size, as they are roomy enough to store a good quantity, but won't take up too much space in situ. After we have made the cut to produce a 14ft container, we then offer a choice of doors to complete your container, specifically designed to meet different requirements.Please note cut down containers are not suitable for shipping, stacking or lifting when loaded. They can be modified upon request if these conditions are required.
Second Hand Containers
Used shipping containers generally have over 10 years of service on shipping lines which results in considerable evidence of use, plenty of surface rust and knocks and dents. Containers Direct specialise in upcycling used shipping containers to give them new lease of life. The manufacturing process for a shipping container is very carbon intensive so the longer useful life we can give them, the better!
Once-Used Containers
New shipping containers, sometimes called once-used containers, are manufactured in factories in China and shipped to the UK with cargo inside. New containers are often the choice for projects where a longer lifespan is required.
The Build Process
14 foot containers with S2 doors can be delivered direct from our depots across the UK. This means our customers get the quickest and cheapest delivery rates from strategic locations to cover all areas including: London, Southampton, Glasgow, Birmingham, Newport, Manchester and Felixstowe.Built by us - new doors and cut downs
Containers requiring work before delivery are dispatched from our own fabrication depot. Work includes any optional extras or fitting new doors from our range, which involves the cutting down process. For example 40ft shipping containers cut down into two 14 ft long sections are completed using high gauge steel formed into corrugated metal panels which are fully seam welded on to create two new containers.
