Shipping Container Prices
Shipping container prices have never been lower, as when they arrive on our shores shipping line companies now find it more economical to sell them off rather than ship them back to their original source. This means there is a surplus of used containers for resale, which is good news for the buyer! Although of course you still have the choice to buy brand new, it is generally more cost effective to buy previously used, as shipping containers have a useful life span of around 20 years.
Age and conditionThese are the biggest influence on shipping container prices, so you will see quite a marked variation in price range amongst our products. Obviously size makes a difference too, so you can expect to pay much more for a 40ft container than a 10ft container
Shipping container prices for 20ft products, the most commonly bought size, will vary tremendously, but for a reasonable quality second hand product without any modifications, we retail at £1455. It is not recommended you buy very cheap containers for anything other than a short term purpose, as they can end up costing you more money in repairs than is their worth, but as a quick, temporary solution to storage problems.
Modified shipping containersThese shipping container prices are for unmodified containers. Modified shipping containers will cost a little more than unmodified containers of comparable condition, as they have had extra work done to make them more user friendly. This can include additional doors, often repositioned for convenience, or new doors made up to make the container better suited for storage purposes than shipping. Many modified containers are cut down from standard sized 20ft and 40ft containers, to fill the demand for smaller sized storage containers. For example, this 10ft containers are cut down to produce our biggest selling size of modified container with a new flat panel, easy opening door added. We offer this product at the generous price £1245.
Other modifications that will add to the value of the container and effect shipping container prices include grafotherm, lining and insulating (to prevent internal condensation), and repainting. For a full list of modifications see Customising Your Container.
