A Nationwide Retailer
Containers Direct Ltd are the UK's nationwide retailer and manufacturer of shipping containers, storage containers, flat pack containers, container offices and container conversions.
In response to the increasing demand for a wider variety of container sizes and requirements we set up our own 4.5 acre depot and workshop in Liverpool and have become specialists in supplying modified containers of all sizes, along with creating bespoke container conversions. From garden offices to bars, retail outlets to catwalks, we are constantly creating innovative solutions for our customers beyond the constraints of a standard shipping container.
However, whilst we have our own in-house modifications depot in Liverpool and an office in Southend, we have never stopped being a nationwide container retailer. We're able to deliver shipping containers nationwide using an extensive range of storage depots and hauliers. We supply shipping containers throughout the North West, with dedicated location pages for Blackburn, Liverpool, Manchester, Preston and Warrington. From standard storage containers to units requiring fabrication or conversion work, we can arrange delivery across the wider region.

Yorkshire & Humber
Our Yorkshire coverage includes Leeds and Sheffield, with container deliveries arranged throughout the surrounding towns and counties. We supply standard shipping containers as well as units that have been modified or converted for a particular requirement.

North East England
We deliver shipping containers to Newcastle upon Tyne and throughout the wider North East. The same delivery network can be used for standard containers and for units that have been fabricated or converted at our Knowsley site.
Delivery requirements vary by site, so access, ground conditions and the space available for the HIAB vehicle should be checked before ordering.
East Midlands
Our East Midlands location pages cover Lincoln and Nottingham. We can arrange shipping container delivery across the surrounding area for standard storage requirements as well as containers requiring additional doors, lining, fabrication or conversion work.

West Midlands
We supply shipping containers across the West Midlands, with Birmingham and Wolverhampton providing the main location pages for this part of the country. Delivery can be arranged for standard containers as well as units altered to meet a specific storage or conversion requirement.
For sites outside these cities, the delivery postcode is the most useful starting point for checking transport and access.
East of England
Our East of England location pages cover Felixstowe, Luton, Norfolk, Norwich and Southend-on-Sea. Together they provide local starting points for container enquiries across the region.
We can supply standard storage containers and arrange delivery of units that have been modified or converted before dispatch. Site access and the required offload position should always be considered when requesting a quote.
London & South East England
We arrange shipping container deliveries throughout London and the South East, with location pages for Brighton, Kent, London, Milton Keynes, Portsmouth and Southampton. The region includes everything from constrained urban sites to larger commercial and industrial locations, so delivery access can vary considerably.
Let us know where the container needs to be positioned when requesting a quote. Vehicle access, turning space and the available HIAB lifting area can all affect how the delivery is planned.
South West England
Our main South West locations are Bristol, Plymouth and Swindon, with shipping container deliveries arranged across the wider region. We can supply straightforward storage units or containers that have first been fabricated or converted to suit the job.
The South West covers a large geographical area, so the site postcode is important when checking delivery options and planning the most suitable transport.
Wales
We supply shipping containers across Wales, with Cardiff and Newport supported by our wider South Wales location page. Standard containers can be supplied alongside units requiring fabrication, doors, lining or more substantial conversion work.

Scotland
We arrange shipping container deliveries across Scotland, with dedicated locations for Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as our wider Scotland location page. Both standard containers and units completed at our Knowsley fabrication site can be transported north for delivery.
Because transport distances and site conditions vary considerably across Scotland, provide the full delivery postcode and intended positioning area when requesting a quote.

October 2026
20ft therapy space
Based on our popular ModiBox® portable office design, this tranquil oasis tucked away between the trees, is located on Bath City Farm. Used as a therapy in nature space we used wood cladding to cover the front of the shipping container and repainted the remainder green, to blend in nicely with its surroundings. Lined and insulated inside, for temperature and sound control, it will provide comfort and privacy for its users all year round. The patio style doors and turn and tilt widows are optional upgrades to our standard ModiBox® features, adding a sleek and professional appearance and letting plenty of light inside for a bright and airy ambience.

The locations above cover some of our main supply areas, but they do not limit where we can deliver. If your location is not shown, send us the postcode through our Quick Quote form so we can check the appropriate supply and delivery route.
Are all the locations shown here Containers Direct depots?
No. The hub includes our own locations as well as regional pages covering areas supplied through our wider network of storage depots and hauliers. This allows us to arrange container supply across a much wider part of the UK.
Should I choose a new or used shipping container?
Used containers normally show more marks, dents and surface wear from their previous working life. New or once-used containers have made a single import journey and generally have a cleaner exterior.
What container sizes can I order?
Popular choices include 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers, but we also supply smaller and intermediate sizes. See our shipping container dimensions guide for external and internal measurements.
How will my shipping container be delivered?
Delivery is normally arranged using a lorry fitted with a HIAB crane to lift the container from the vehicle and position it on the prepared base. Vehicle access and the intended container position should be considered before ordering. See our shipping container delivery guide for more information.
Can you modify or convert a container before delivery?
Yes. We carry out modifications and conversions in-house, including doors, windows, lining and insulation, electrics, cladding and more substantial fitted conversions. Explore our container modifications or container conversions.
Do I need planning permission for a shipping container?
Planning requirements depend on the site, intended use and how long the container will remain there. Check your proposal with the relevant local planning authority. Our planning guide gives a general introduction.
