The Bike Hub container project is an addition to the social enterprise New Start Highland, whose aims are to improve lives by social and environmental improvements within communities facing hardships. One of the key features of New Start Highland is working towards Net Zero, so they deliver programmes where items that could end up in landfill instead find a new home with people in need. Shipping containers are a great choice for their low carbon footprint as well as being economically prudent, so the building we constructed for them is in keeping with their ethos.
By joining two containers together and installing 13ft wide doors for extra-wide access, there's plenty space inside bikes, equipment and personnel.
