Quick and easy assembly
See our assembly guide for the full step-by-step process. Flat-pack accommodation (often supplied as an Expandacom kit) is a modular system built from a sectional chassis, corner posts, ring beams and slotted wall panels, with flexible positioning for the door and windows during installation.
Best practice before you start:
- Level, solid ground for correct wall and roof alignment.
- Tools: 13mm and 19mm spanners or sockets, plus a screwdriver.
- Hand tighten first; fully tighten all fixings at the end.
- Keep corner sections and transit fixings safe for re-use.
- Separate and keep roof panels aside during unpacking (they may be shorter).
- Remove protective membrane from panels before fitting.
- Decide door and window positions early (before completing wall runs).
- Panels slot into corner channels; ring beams lock everything in place.
- Roof panels slot in; seal external joints with the supplied self-adhesive tape.
- Roof assembly uses two main sections and a joining cover - align and overlap sections before final fixing.
Handling and relocation: If the unit is delivered in its final position, do not disassemble the floor chassis. If access is restricted, the chassis can be broken down into sections and rebuilt on site before fitting panels.
After assembly: Fit window and door furniture (windows supplied locked for transit), install roof fixing brackets and the roof joining panel, then re-check all bolts are tight. The assembled unit can be lifted and repositioned using suitable equipment, but additional fixings may be required - follow your site H&S procedures.
